Kamienie wołać będą. Upamiętniono 850 ofiar

Podczas uroczystości w kościele pw. Świętej Trójcy upamiętniono 850 ofiar mordu mieszkańców wsi Huta Pieniacka, mieszczącej się dziś na Ukrainie w obwodzie tarnopolskim.
Wydarzenie rozpoczęło się od mszy św. za mieszkańców Huty Pieniackiej i Korościatyna, zamordowanych przez OUN-UPA i SS „Galizien”. Przewodniczył jej ks. Stanisław Czenczek. Następnie przy tablicy upamiętniającej martyrologię Polaków w Hucie Pieniackiej i na Kresach, znajdującej się w przyklasztornym murze, odmówiono modlitwę oraz złożono kwiaty i zapalono znicze.
Poseł Andrzej Matusiewicz odczytał natomiast list marszałka sejmu Marka Kuchcińskiego. „Dziś pochylając głowy w hołdzie pomordowanym, uświadamiamy sobie, jak bardzo jest krzywdzące zacieranie prawdy i fałszowanie przeszłości. Dlatego dziękuję wszystkim, którzy pielęgnują pamięć o tragicznym losie naszych rodaków, ofiar zbrodni w Hucie Pieniackiej” – napisał.

Integralną częścią obchodów był organizowany w poniedziałek (12 bm.) w Muzeum Narodowym Ziemi Przemyskiej Wieczór Kresowy z Tomaszem Kubą Kozłowskim pt. Kamienie wołać będą! Janowej Doliny – rozkwit i zagłada.
Organizatorami obchodów było Stowarzyszenie Pamięci Polskich Termopil i Kresów im. ks. Bronisława Mireckiego w Przemyślu, Przemyskie Rodziny Kresowe oraz Klub Inteligencji Katolickiej w Przemyślu.
28 lutego 1944 r. ukraińscy żołnierze 4 Pułku Policyjnego SS 14 Dywizji SS „Galizien”, dowodzeni przez niemieckiego kapitana oraz wsparci oddziałami Ukraińskiej Powstańczej Armii i członkami paramilitarnego oddziału ukraińskich nacjonalistów, dokonali pacyfikacji polskiej ludności we wsi Huta Pieniacka. Według danych Oddziałowej Komisji Ścigania Zbrodni przeciwko Narodowi Polskiemu IPN w Krakowie zginęło wówczas ok. 850 osób, a ocalało ok. 160.
